Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB)
Mary provides appointments 3 days per week and can help with money advice including helping you decide the best approach if you are in debt; checking your entitlement to benefits and tax credits; checking your employment, consumer or housing rights; or helping you fill in forms.  In the last financial year, CAB advisers at the surgery helped people claim £130,696 in benefits and helped people deal with debts totalling £528,612. You can make an appointment to see Mary by contacting the surgery reception. Stable Friends (Friends of the Old Farm Surgery)                     
Have you thought of helping less able members of your community? Then find out about Stable Friends who are valuable team members providing a service that includes befriending, providing transport to surgery appointments and picking up prescriptions, as well as carrying out questionnaires for the over 75’s. New members are needed to join the team and help our more vunerable patients – please contact Wendy through reception.

RELATE
You can see a RELATE Counsellor here in the practice on a Thursday morning. RELATE provides relationship education, counselling and sex therapy supporting couple and family relationships throughout life. Telephone 297854 for an appointment.

Checkpoint.
Checkpoint can deal with loads of teenage problems including relationship problems (family or friends), housing problems (including homelessness or if you have run away from home or forced out of home), health concerns, drug and alcohol. Phone 01803 200100 to arrange a meeting with a worker here at Old Farm Surgery or you could go to the drop in Centre in Torquay which is at 7 Victoria Road, Ellacombe, Torquay, TQ1 1HU.

Sure Start.
Our Health Visitor Lynne is still working very closely with 'Sure Start' which is based at Renwick House, Long Road, Paignton. Telephone 556081 for any queries about good quality play provision, child development advice and advice services for parents. The aim is to give children under four years a good start in life.

Carers Support Service.
We want to look after those that provide care for others. Trish is our Carer's Support Worker who provides a wide range of support to anyone in a caring role. If you know of a Carer who needs help, please contact Trish through reception.

Patient's Group - Make a difference to your surgery!
This group does regular patient surveys to find out what could be improved at Old Farm. This is great work which does influence us and subsequently improves our service to you. Telephone access, queuing at reception and air-conditioning are areas we have recently improved. It meets once every quarter (with tea & biscuits as from the next one in December!). We want to expand this group NOW! More members would be FANTASTIC! Contact us for more information.
